Organized by the IBGC, the forum discussed strategies for corporate impasses

Conflict resolution in the corporate world is no trivial task and this challenge is no different for boards of directors. A specialist in conflict mediation at Mediare, Tania Almeida highlighted coordinated dialogue and confidentiality as essential aspects for a successful negotiation. She participated in a forum on the topic promoted by the IBGC on Friday (June 5th), in São Paulo.

Moderated by the chairman of the IBGC board of directors, Henrique Luz, the meeting discussed possible scenarios for the use of mediation for corporate and governance conflicts, involving companies, their directors and managers.

According to Tania, using mediation means keeping parties in dialogue, which includes factors such as customized solutions, preservation of social, contractual and functional relationships, in addition to negotiated confidentiality.

For the specialist, many interests are negotiated under a rigid position. “Don't trade positions. All ideas and interests are legitimate, work for mutual benefit,” she recommended. The lawyer, mediator and partner of Trindade Sociedade de Advogados, Ricardo Castorri, also participated in the meeting.
